​What could be more natural than learning to use the plants, flowers and trees that grow around us? Herbs are second nature and are here to support and nourish us if we endeavor into a relationship with them. Below you will find courses and offerings that will help you in your learning journey. We are constantly striving to find the best resources we can find to not only help our journey but help yours as well. The Herbal Academy

Herbal Academy Courses
​The Herbal Academy school can help you on your way. In addition to the courses they offer, you can also access their blog and The Herbarium, a membership website for herbalists. If you have a desire to study herbalism and learn the many ways plants can enrich your life, this is one of the ways you can do that. ​

​Through an online format, you can work at your own pace that gives you access to beautiful, crisp images and comprehensive herbal educational materials. You get to listen to expert herbalists as they provide in-depth talks and lectures and the opportunity to meet other herbalists, both teachers and students, in their online forums. There is also a lot of support for you in your journey through their social media platforms that have herbal educational resources and in-depth articles to support and teach all aspiring students and budding herbalists. You will find a lot of free resources in addition to the paid resources.

Nicole apelian

You may know Nicole Apelian from when she was on the Alone series however, she has been active in wild edibles and primitive skills long before the Alone series. Nicole is an invaluable resource of foraging wild edibles, using herbs medicinally as well as many other things and has been a sought after for her guidance all over the world.

She was also an advisor for the 2018 movie, Leave No Trace, about a veteran suffering from PTSD who chooses to live in the forest with his daughter. She was able to teach them about foraging and eating wild edibles as depicted in the movie.

A passionate educator for many years, Nicole has worked as an adjunct professor at Prescott College, an adult educator for the Audubon Society of Portland, and as an instructor at various schools, universities and leading conservation education programs. She has a doctorate in Cultural 
​Anthropology. She has worked as a field biologist in Botswana, a game warden with the U.S. Peace Corps in Africa and worked with the San Bushman people where she learned a wealth of knowledge on primitive skills and living.
